I was thinking about starting to offer “photobooth” style portraits at wedding receptions… give the chance to let the guests have a bit of fun, give us photogs something to do while most of the guests are eating dinner. So we decided to do some self portraits in a photobooth style to see if it was fun… and it totally was! Nadine and Alexi are both going to do “official” engagement shoots… more romantic and epic. Can you say “fashion inspired”?? Can’t wait to do those, but in the meantime… couldn’t resist! So fun.
Okay, so at Em’s dad’s request, Em took more photos of the ring. Enjoy! (new photos of us very soon)
For the record, the green box is the one from Hamilton… and they did a really great job. Just went in yesterday to get it cleaned for the first time, and WOW does it sparkle again!
Okay, so many of you already heard– but here’s the (quick version) official story. I’ll be making a separate blog to keep everyone posted about our details soon, but in the meantime…
We had been discussing the idea of an engagement for quite a while and picked out a ring together. Steve tricked me into thinking that the ring was still being resized while he had actually picked it up at the jeweler (Hamilton, a really great family owned store, by the way!). We had tickets to the Nine Inch Nails (one of our mutual favorite bands for years) concert in West Palm Beach on Friday, so we headed down there a bit late, assuming that Jane’s Addiction was going to be the opening band. Oops– apparently not! As we walked up to the amphitheater with the band already playing inside, Steve took my hand and pointed up at the sky, “Wow! Look at the full moon!” I grinned, excited about the show and the beautiful weather, and when I turned to look at him, he was down on one knee. The next few minutes were an exciting blur– I’m pretty sure I said yes a few dozen times! The ring is gorgeous, a beautiful round solitaire set in platinum, which is exactly what I wanted. I can’t express how happy I am about this! It’s a dream come true to be engaged to my best friend.
Thanks to everyone for the good wishes & congratulations! We love you all.

Of course I had to get a shirt from the concert-- I want to remember this!!

TERRIBLE cell phone picture taken right after... but you can still see the ring sparkle! My cheeks still hurt from grinning so much.
